As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, some of the profitable banks in India were:

 

HDFC Bank: HDFC Bank is one of the largest private sector banks in India and has consistently reported high profits over the years.

 

State Bank of India (SBI): SBI is the largest public sector bank in India and has a significant market presence. It has been consistently profitable and has a wide range of banking services.

 

ICICI Bank: ICICI Bank is one of the leading private sector banks in India and has shown consistent profitability over the years.

 

Axis Bank: Axis Bank is another prominent private sector bank in India and has reported consistent profits. It offers a wide range of financial products and services.

 

Kotak Mahindra Bank: Kotak Mahindra Bank is a private sector bank known for its profitability. It has shown strong financial performance in recent years.
